KATHERINE CHAPIN
MEMORIAL FUND

In loving memory of their daughter and sister, the family of Katherine Chapin Helper announces the establishment of the Katherine Chapin Memorial Fund at the New York Academy of Art.

The memorial fund has been created as a permanently restricted endowment to support artists in New York City by providing housing scholarships to young women.  As an art gallery director, art dealer and consultant, Katherine witnessed the impact of New York’s devastatingly high rents on the life and careers of emerging artists and sought ways in which to mitigate its impact.  The Katherine Chapin Memorial Fund provides the opportunity to join in addressing a concern that was close to Katherine’s heart.

Young women artists enrolled in the Master of Fine Arts program at the New York Academy of Art will be eligible to benefit from the housing scholarships awarded through the memorial fund.  The selection criteria for the award of the Katherine Chapin Scholarships will be artistic talent and financial need.

We invite you to participate in the Katherine Chapin Memorial Fund by making a tax deductible contribution to the fund.  Please write in the memo line of your check “Katherine Chapin Memorial Fund”.  Contributions should be sent to:
