Nina Levent
Adjunct faculty, Art History, is an art historian with an interest in the representation of the body, the nude, Russian and German art. She received her MA from Moscow State Lomonosov University and PhD from the Humbolt University in Berlin. Dr. Levent has worked in museums and galleries on both sides of the Atlantic, including the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. Also, she has been a visiting scholar at Eberhard Karls Universität, Tübingen, Germany, and at Columbia University. She edited Art Beyond Sight (AFB Press, 2003) and is currently editing a multi-volume art history series, Art History through Touch and Sound. Her book on the representation of the athlete’s body in the Soviet art will be published by Peter Lang.
